Services Offered :

The Transitional Program offers a range of services to women and their children who have / or are experiencing violence in a relationship as well as those who have left violent relationships and are wanting to establish violence-free lives in the community.


Services : (Free)
  • Immediate telephone support and information through the 24-hour crisis lines
  • Individual support
  • Group support
  • Safety planning for women and their children
  • Development of transition plans
  • Support for parenting, income, housing, health and wellness
  • Education about violence and abuse
  • Practical assistance
Services Offered :

The Transitional Program offers a range of services to women and their children who have / or are experiencing violence in a relationship as well as those who have left violent relationships and are wanting to establish violence-free lives in the community.


Groups offered to women in the community.
  • Safety Now: Tuesdays 1:00-3:00 pm. Childcare subsidy available. Downtown location. Open group. This group runs year round.
  • Spirits of the Wind: Friday mornings from 9:30- 11:30 am. Willow Road area. Open group for any woman living in the City of Guelph. Childcare on premises. Workshop on different topics on the second Friday of the month. Group runs year round except for last week in December.
  • Sharing our Experiences (group for immigrant women): This group runs for 10 weeks twice a year. Call 836-6865 for details.
  • Happy Hopefuls (group for women 55 and over): This group runs for 10 weeks in the Spring and the Fall. Call 836-6865 for details.
  • Action Read: First Tuesday of every month from 1:00-3:00 pm for women involved with Action Read (literacy agency), except for July, August, January.
  • Closed group (registration required):
    1. 4th Monday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm except July, August and December. Downtown location.
    2. 1st Thursday of every month from 9:30-11:30 am except July and August. Childcare on premises. Willow Road area.
    3. Open to any woman living in the City of Guelph.
